I am starting to look through the pygame libraries for python to see what would be useful for drum machines or piano rolls, (times lines exc....). two libraries stand out one is albow. They have a widget called gridview that is a good start on almost any project. This is the one I am currently playing around with. ocempgui is another one. It has a toggle widget that is a rectangle. The problem with the latter one is that it isn't obvious how to change the color of it..
