Ride Tab Editor 2.03 source code. I tried to compile this with cxfreeze but norton does not like the exe (or any other exe it creates) so I will try another compiler. I uploaded this to esnips and they are much better than the previos one (I have been using them for years). There are some minor graphic fixes as well as a tools menu that isn't working yet. it is available public domain.

ride tab editor 2.01 has been released..

the changes are

custom tab formats

the custom tab formats are just text files each heading is a letter with spaces in
between them. pretty simple not fully tested yet.. next version will include a batch for text based piano rolls for csound or whatever..

I made some simple changes to ride tab editor... I haven't realy made the changes yet but I have a command line file that changes the tabs to a csound format.. It realy needs an intrument bank and I haven't did the open and close notation yet. I tested it and it looks like the editor should work from python 2.3 to 2.5 but it does give deprecion warnings for wxpython. you can also grab the compiled version at sourceforge.. the new script is drum_tab_to_csound.py

ride tab editor 2.03. This is just re-released but I may be able to get rid of the bug and come out with 2.04 also. esnips requires a plugin now so this is just an alternative download site.

It would be nice to know of suggested changes. Most likely this will be added to ride tab editor (and ride tab editor will be moved from the awful file host it is on). text based piano rolls seem to work well with it. You may need to sort the output file.

I am probily going to add this to the ride tab editor. It is inspired by the probiblity drum machine in jeskola buzz. I don't think I used the random right but here is a preview of the lang anyway

the first number is the frequency it needs to start with one letter f is good. periods are skipped, numbers are a percentage chance that the note will be used. I am planning on two commands

You can redifine these as long as there is no space between the = and the number. now that I can use linux on my windows machine I will be able to test it in both os's. This is a pre-release preview for any reader I might have.

Dex Tracker .024 has been released. the html exporter and highligher, ride tab editor, and the unfinished pygame drum/piano roll thing. I have also changed some code to make it cross platform. os.startfile has been replaced with a startfile.startfile command that looks to be cross platform according to the search engines.

Most of the docs are in french but I might see about changing this to a command line program (in python) and then releasing it for csound. With a couple of extra options to make it more than just one more midi to freq program.. I also am planning a new version of ride tab editor that is a little more cleaned up, works better with linux and compiled so you don't have to deal with the source unless you want to.

It is best not to grab it from ziddu.com. They are giving scareware warnings and if you do have trouble go into safe mode with networking and look up the software giving the warnings. I did a test compile and I have some other cosmetic stuff but I didn't do the changes to the menu system yet. hopefully sometime this week with a linux and windows compiled version as well as sourcecode.
